Why Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Schools?

“Why Attend ELG?”

Freshmen 2020Interested in learning how ELGS can enhance your child’s school experience?  Please contact any of the following for more information or to set up a personal tour:  Ryan Faris, h.s. principal; Jeanne Courneene, elem./m.s. principal; Debbie Hammann, director of spec. ed/pupil services, or Ann Buechel Haack, district administrator.  It’s a great day to be a Resorter!

There's Something for Everyone!

Our staff thinks “outside the box” to provide learning solutions and experiences which are meaningful and relevant to the our students’ lives, such as incorporating technology to facilitate and expand student learning; providing exploratory courses; offering independent study experiences and  advanced coursework, and tying into relevant current events such as the Winter Olympics and Presidential elections with mini-units of study.

Add in unique experiences such as the 30-mile Sheboygan Marsh Bike Trip, 6th grade camp, 7th grade Wetland Studies, Adopt-A-Grandparent Program, Culinary Field to Fork experience, etc. and it's easy to see that an ELGS educational experience goes beyond the traditional areas of study.

In addition, there are many extra-curricular activities that students can join as members and  because of our size, becom eactively involved!  At EL-G there’s a spot for everyone—you’re never left out. We work hard to help put our students on the path to be happy, competent, and confident young men and women.

Personalized Attention

playgroundAt Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah schools we pride ourselves in energizing the intellectual curiosity of our students. No matter what the age, we get to really know our students and adapt to their individual needs. Students are tasked with activities tailored to stimulate both their minds and their bodies to continually achieve more. Our teacher-to-student ratio ensures we have the time with each child to inspire the confidence needed to exceed at almost any endeavor they’re willing to try. And our entire staff encourages all of our students to try a number of different types of experiences: physical, social and community-related.

Student-focused, Caring, Safe Environment

BusAt EL-G we pride ourselves on being a place where our students, parents, and staff want to be. Our younger students are comfortable in school and very familiar with the building, the staff and all of the other students.  Students need to feel safe, both physically and emotionally, before optimal learning can take place.  Our newly remodeled secure building entrances promote a physically safe school environment and because of our smaller class sizes, students and staff develop a close relationship in which students can feel emotionally safe to try, at times fail, but ultimately grow.  In a small school setting, it becomes easier to recognize situations which might be detrimental to student safety and/or learning and curtail them before they escalate. Providing a caring, individualized learning environment is important to us and our size sets us apart in our ability to do so.

Almost Unlimited Options

carAt EL-G, we balance focusing on student academics with encouraging students to explore new growth opportunities in almost any field of interest. While 60+ college credits are offered on-site, ELGS also has a strong, innovative programs in the CTE (Career/Technical Education) and fine arts areas. There are dozens of clubs to join including but not limited to robotics, forensics, AFS, FCCLA, and NHS . Elkhart Lake-Glenbeaulah has a unique ability to utilize technology in our distance learning lab to get classes from other schools making our course options almost unlimited - elevating a student’s responsibility for their own education. In addition, there are dozens of clubs to join including but not limited to robotics, forensics, AFS, FCCLA, NHS, foreign language, drama, art, etc.  And if we don't have what a student needs...just let us know.  There's always the possibly of adding more!Camp

Staff Testimonial

Teaching and Learning at EL-G is different.

"Elkhart Lake - Glenbeulah isn't just a good school, it's a great school.

Each student is known personally: by name, by family, by needs, by future plans and by what makes that student special.  This district sincerely values every student as a member of our school community.  We offer tremendous opportunities academically, yet look out for each student’s well-being.  We offer excellent extra-curricular activities, yet never forget how it all needs to work together.

We offer everything a top notch school should have, but with the personal touch of a family.  Smallness matters. Attitude matters. Respect matters.  Hard work matters. PEOPLE matter!!!"
